28. Credo Events

The following terms apply specifically to hosts who create and manage events through the Credo Events platform.

28.1 Eligibility

To host an event through Credo Events, you must be at least 18 years of age. If hosting on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms. By creating an event, you confirm you meet these requirements.

28.2 Venue and Legal Compliance

You are solely responsible for ensuring your venue complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including fire codes, occupancy limits, ADA accessibility requirements, and any local permits required for public gatherings. Credo Studios is not responsible for venue compliance and shall not be liable for any claims arising from your failure to comply.

28.3 Public Performance License

The streaming access provided through Credo Events constitutes a limited, single-use public performance license for one in-person, non-recorded screening event at the venue and date specified in your event listing. You may not:

  • Record, livestream, or retransmit the screening in any form
  • Share the streaming link with anyone outside the event venue
  • Use the streaming link for any event other than the one for which it was issued
  • Resell or transfer the streaming link to any third party

The streaming link is deactivated automatically upon conclusion of the event. Any unauthorized use of the streaming link constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of your hosting privileges.

28.4 Streaming Link

The streaming link is the Host's presentation tool for projecting the licensed film at the venue. It is not for distribution to individual attendees. Credo Studios will notify you when your streaming link is available. You are responsible for using the streaming link to project the film at the venue on the scheduled date. Credo Studios is not liable for any failure to screen resulting from your failure to use the streaming link as intended.

28.5 Ticket Sales and Revenue

All ticket sales are processed through Credo Studios' payment infrastructure. Prices displayed during event setup are in USD. If you or your attendees are located outside the United States, the applicable amount will be converted to your local currency at checkout at the prevailing exchange rate. Credo Studios is not responsible for currency conversion differences.

Revenue will be distributed to hosts in accordance with the screening mode selected at event creation:

  • Standard Screening: 50% to host, 50% to Credo Studios
  • Fundraiser Screening: host retains all revenue above the Credo Studios floor per ticket
  • Youth Screening: flat license fee model; no per-ticket revenue share
  • Cinema Series: 60% to host, 40% to Credo Studios

Payouts are issued within thirty (30) days of event completion, subject to verification of attendance and compliance with these Terms. Credo Studios reserves the right to withhold payouts pending investigation of any suspected violation of these Terms.

28.6 Host Communications

When you use the Email Attendees tool to communicate with your attendees, you are solely responsible for the content of those communications. You may not use the Email Attendees tool to send communications unrelated to the specific event, to solicit attendees for other purposes, or to share attendee contact information with third parties.

28.7 Event Status and Cancellation

Draft Events: Events created in Draft status are not publicly visible. You must publish your event to make it available to attendees.

Unpublishing: You may temporarily remove a published event from public listing without cancelling it. Unpublishing does not affect existing ticket holders or trigger refunds.

Cancellation by Host: If you cancel an event, Credo Studios will issue full refunds to all ticket purchasers. You will not be entitled to any payout for a cancelled event. Repeated cancellations may result in suspension of your hosting privileges.

Cancellation by Credo Studios: Credo Studios reserves the right to cancel any event and issue full refunds to ticket purchasers if:

  • You violate these Terms or Credo Studios' Catholic mission standards
  • The event venue is found to be non-compliant with applicable laws
  • The streaming content cannot be delivered due to technical or rights issues
  • Credo Studios determines in its sole discretion that the event poses a risk to attendees, Credo Studios, or its content partners

In the event of cancellation by Credo Studios due to your violation of these Terms, you will not be entitled to any payout.

28.8 Catholic Mission Compliance

Credo Events is a Catholic platform. You agree not to use Credo Studios branding, content, or the public performance license for any event that conflicts with Catholic teaching, as defined by the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Credo Studios reserves the right to remove any event listing and revoke hosting privileges for violations of this standard, without prior notice and without liability to you.

28.9 Attendee Data

Attendees who purchase tickets or register for your event create Credo Studios accounts. All attendee data is owned by Credo Studios and governed by Credo Studios' Privacy Policy. You may not use attendee contact information for any purpose other than communicating about the specific event for which it was collected. You may not export, store, or share attendee data outside the Credo Events platform.

28.10 Feature Availability

Credo Studios makes reasonable efforts to ensure all platform features are available and functional. Certain features, including assigned seating and Cinema Series, may be subject to availability limitations or require additional approval. Credo Studios is not liable for any losses arising from the unavailability of any platform feature.

28.11 Testimonials and Representations

Any testimonials displayed on the Credo Events platform are from real hosts and reflect their genuine experiences. Credo Studios does not guarantee that your experience will be the same.

28.12 Liability

Credo Studios is not liable for:

  • Event cancellations due to your failure to comply with these Terms
  • Low attendance or ticket revenue shortfalls
  • Technical failures at your venue, including internet, projection, or audio equipment
  • Disputes between you and attendees
  • Currency conversion differences at checkout
  • Any losses arising from your use of the Credo Events platform

28.13 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Credo Studios harmless from any claims, damages, or costs arising from your conduct in connection with any event, including but not limited to venue incidents, attendee disputes, unauthorized use of the streaming link, or misrepresentation of your authority to host.

29. Host Agreement: Venue, Technical Requirements, and Streaming Link

The Host is solely responsible for ensuring the following conditions are met. Credo Studios bears no liability for event failures resulting from Host non-compliance.

Venue Standards

  • The venue must be a physical, enclosed space appropriate for film screening (adequate seating, controlled lighting, minimal ambient noise)
  • The venue must be Catholic-friendly and family-friendly in character — no alcohol service during the screening, no signage or décor inconsistent with Catholic values
  • The venue must be accessible to attendees with disabilities where reasonably possible
  • The Host represents and warrants compliance with all applicable venue permits, fire codes, and occupancy requirements. Credo Studios reserves the right to terminate Host access if non-compliance is discovered.
  • Credo Studios is not responsible for the quality, suitability, or condition of the Host’s venue. Any failure of the venue to meet the standards above is solely the Host’s responsibility.

AV Requirements

  • A functioning projection or large-screen display system capable of rendering HD video (minimum 720p)
  • A functioning audio system with adequate volume and clarity for the venue size
  • Stable internet connection if streaming is required (minimum 25 Mbps recommended)
  • The Host must test all AV equipment no less than 30 minutes before the event start time
  • Credo Studios is not responsible for AV failures, technical deficiencies, or equipment malfunctions at Host venues. The Host assumes full responsibility for the quality of the AV experience delivered to attendees.

Host Liability

  • If the venue or AV system fails and the event cannot proceed, refunds to attendees are the Host’s responsibility
  • Credo Studios will not issue refunds for Host-caused failures
  • The Host indemnifies Credo Studios against any claims arising from venue conditions, AV failure, or unsafe premises, to the extent caused by Host negligence or failure to comply with these requirements
  • The Host agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Credo Studios and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, liability, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to the Host’s in-person event, including but not limited to: personal injury or property damage at the venue, failure to obtain required permits or comply with local law, and any acts or omissions of the Host’s volunteers, staff, or attendees
  • Credo Studios’ liability to the Host is limited solely to the platform services described herein. Credo Studios is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the Host’s use of the platform or the conduct of any in-person event

Streaming Link Release

  • The streaming link is the Host’s presentation tool for projecting the licensed film at the venue. It is not for distribution to attendees and may not be shared outside the event window
  • The streaming link releases automatically when the event’s registration threshold is met, or no later than 24 hours before the scheduled event start time — whichever comes first
  • If the registration threshold has not been met at the 48-hour mark, the Host will receive a notification encouraging additional promotion. The streaming link will still release at the 24-hour mark regardless of threshold status
  • The streaming link is time-bound to the event window. Unauthorized redistribution or use outside the event window constitutes a material breach of these terms and may result in immediate termination of Host access

30. Attending a Credo Event

30.1 Event Host Responsibility

Events listed on Credo Events are organized and hosted by independent third parties ("Hosts"). Credo Studios provides the ticketing, streaming, and platform infrastructure but is not the organizer of any event. The Host is solely responsible for:

  • The conduct of the event, including check-in, seating, and attendee experience
  • Any communications sent to attendees through the Email Attendees tool
  • Any representations made about the event that are not contained in the official Credo Events listing

Credo Studios is not liable for any act or omission of a Host.

30.2 Tickets and Refunds

Tickets purchased through Credo Events are non-refundable except in the following circumstances:

If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact support@credostudios.com within seven (7) days of the event date.

  • Share any streaming link provided at the event

Violation of these restrictions may result in removal from the event and termination of your Credo Studios account.

30.4 Conduct

You agree to conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Catholic mission of Credo Studios and the community standards of the hosting organization. Credo Studios and the Host reserve the right to remove any attendee from an event for conduct that is disruptive, offensive, or inconsistent with these standards, without refund.

30.5 Limitation of Liability

Credo Studios' liability to any attendee is limited to the ticket price paid for the event. Credo Studios is not liable for:

  • Any act or omission of the Host
  • Venue conditions, including technical failures, seating, or accessibility
  • Personal injury or property damage occurring at the event venue
  • Any loss arising from cancellation of an event by the Host

30.6 Disputes with Hosts

Any dispute arising from your attendance at a Credo Event should first be directed to the Host. If the dispute cannot be resolved with the Host, contact Credo Studios at support@credostudios.com. Credo Studios will make reasonable efforts to assist but is not obligated to resolve disputes between attendees and Hosts.

31. Content Guidelines

All content presented at a Credo Event must be consistent with Catholic teaching and values.

Prohibited Content

  • Content that contradicts, mocks, or undermines Catholic doctrine, the Magisterium, or the authority of the Church
  • Content that is sexually explicit, graphically violent, or otherwise inappropriate for a family audience

  • Content that is defamatory, discriminatory, or hateful toward any person or group
  • Political campaign content or partisan political messaging

Supplementary Materials

  • Any printed or digital materials distributed at the event must be consistent with Catholic values
  • Third-party speakers or presenters must not contradict Catholic teaching during the event. Credo Studios is not responsible for statements made by third-party speakers at Host events.

Enforcement

  • Credo Studios reserves the right to revoke a Host’s access to the platform for content violations
  • Credo Studios reserves the right to seek damages for material harm caused by Host content violations
